Financial Controller (Limited 12- Month Parental Cover)

Your mission
This is a limited, 12-month contract to cover the parental leave of a current employee.
  • Perform cost accounting, variance analyses, and ad hoc evaluations with confidence and attention to detail
  • Support and advise project managers on planning, representation, and monitoring of key financial indicators
  • Accompany and monitor customer projects, including cost planning, ongoing calculations, and post-calculations, ensuring continuous project margin analysis
  • Conduct target vs. actual comparisons, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions in collaboration with relevant departments to ensure goal achievement
  • Monitor cost bookings and support the continuous improvement of controlling processes, systems, and cost optimization potential
  • Take an active role in budgeting, forecasting, and the reporting process, including WIP (work in progress) valuation, accruals for trailing costs, and percentage-of-completion (PoC) calculations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist with the creation of management presentations and decision-making templates
  • Act as a point of contact for auditors during internal and external audits
Your profile
  • Successfully completed a degree in economics, finance, business administration, or a comparable qualification, ideally with a focus on controlling or finance
  • 2+ years of professional experience in controlling, especially project or cost controlling, with solid process understanding
  • Confident handling of MS Office applications, especially Excel, and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Strong technical understanding, analytical thinking, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while still being a strong team player with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); German is a strong advantage but not mandatory; other language skills are a plus
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and willingness to look beyond one’s own area of responsibility
  • Willingness to travel, depending on project needs
